Reglas Concurso Cuentos Sin Final: Hay Premios!!!!

Hola,

Hello
I am very happy you liked the idea of the stories without ending. Based on the emails I received, the game was received with excitement. However, I have not received lots of endings yet. That is why I decided to spice up the game a little bit by giving AWARDS.

As you already know, the idea is for you to read the stories with your kids so it is them who come up with an ending. Then you will have to share the ending through a comment on the blog.

Four (4) weeks after each story is published, I select the most original ending as The winner. To continue encouraging reading in Spanish, the awards will be books either in Spanish or in a bilingual format.

The winner of this first story named: Who Can Fix My Cavity? will be named on Friday July 27th.

The award will be the book Doña Flor, written by Pat Mora, who is one of my favorite Hispanic authors.  This book tells us the story of a giant woman, Doña Flor, who lives happily with her neighbors, until a loud and fierce howl frightens the people of the town. But not Doña Flor, who comes out to defend her friends.
This is a great book full of sweet and tender phrases. Raul Colon made some great illustrations that give live to this beautiful story.

So, don’t put any excuses and be a part of my proposal. I will be waiting on your comments.

Concurso Cuentos Sin Final

¿Qué me inspira?

    -       ¡Ay no!
-       ¿Qué vamos a hacer?

Stories Without an Ending: Who Can Fix My Cavity?

Little Spanishers entered a new phase. We can say I am about to finish the exploration phase, to finally start developing the ideas.

As I told you in one of my first publications, I like to write. When inspired, I write stories, poems, and songs. Sometimes, a feeling just grabs me, and the only way I have to express all that, is by writing.

What inspires me?

Life.

Some days, my minds just keeps wondering about something my kids told me, and that becomes a story. Also, something catches my attention and that gives birth to a story too. These days I walk the streets with a notebook and a pen. I write down notes that end up becoming a character, or a short story, that until now I kept secretly filed on my computer.  But my stories and characters got bored of being alone, and they are asking for some sunlight. That is why I decided to give them the chance of getting to know the world.

So in this new stage of LittleSpanishers, I propose to continue with articles of interest and recommendations, but I would also like to propose a game: I will publish some stories for kids without an end. The idea is that you read them to your children and together come up with an ending. I ask you to share it with me through a comment. I hope you enjoy this little game.

As always, thank you very much for your support and company.

Below, please find my first story:

                                            Who Can Fix My Cavity?

“Oh no, I have a cavity,” screamed Sophie while opening her mouth in front of the mirror.
“How do you know?” asked her twin sister Ana.
“Because I heard Mom and Uncle Tom talking about the dentist, and having a spot on your tooth, it’s a sign of a cavity,” Sophie whispered. She closed her eyes, frowned, and opened her mouth.
Ana nodded, “oh no, you have a black dot in the middle of your front tooth.”
“If Mom hears about this, she won’t let me go trick-or-treating. It’s not fair,” Sophie complained, “but who can fix my cavity?”
First Sophie tried covering the black spot with a white crayon, but the wax didn’t stick to the tooth. Then she tried painting over it. Ana helped, putting a thick amount of the white paint on Sophie’s tooth.
“It tastes terrible,” Sophie said. “Are you sure it’s safe?”
“It won’t hurt you,” Ana said. “It says so right here on the label.”
But as soon as Sophie started to move her tongue around her mouth, the paint came off.
“What are we going to do?” Sophie was panicking.
Sophie was in deep trouble. She had run out of ideas. Who was going to fix her cavity? Halloween was in two days. This was a disaster!
