Todos tenemos muchas ocupaciones durante el dia y a veces encontrar los libros adecuados para nuestros niños, lleva tiempo. Es por eso que he decidido incorporar una sección con recomendaciones de libros infantiles que puedan encontrarse en idioma español. No me considero una experta en literatura infantil, pero si quiero brindar un servicio a quienes me acompañan en este viaje asà que espero poder ayudarlos. Si tienen tiempo, me encantarÃa escuchar sus comentarios respecto de los mismos libros, asà los seguidores de este blog pueden contar con diversidad de opiniones.

Es la historia de una niña de origen hispano, Amelia, que junto a su familia emigra a los Estados Unidos para trabajar en los campos de agricultura. Con los cambios de cosecha, la familia tiene que trasladarse hacia otros campos en busca de trabajo. Consecuentemente, Amelia cambia escuelas y amigos. A pesar de las distancias, Amelia logra encontrar un lugar al cual poder llamar hogar.
Algunos niños pueden no conectarse con el personaje. Sin embargo, puede gustarle mucho a aquellos niños que les guste la historia porque trata el proceso migratorio.
El libro tiene lindas ilustraciones con toques hispanos y coloridos paisajes.

We are all busy during the day, and sometimes finding appropriate books for our children takes time. That’s why I’ve decided to include a section with recommendations of children books’ in Spanish. I don’t consider myself an expert in kids’ literacy, but I do want to provide a service to those who join me in this journey. If you have time, I would like to hear your thoughts on the books I am including; so that followers of this blog could have different opinions.

This story is about a Hispanic
girl, Amelia, who immigrates to the United States with her family to work in
the farm labor camps. Due to seasonal harvests, the family has to move constantly
in order to find a job. As a consequence, Amelia has to change school and has
to make new friends. The book tells us how Amelia is able to find a place, in
spite of physical distance, that she can call home.
Some children might not get
connected to the main carácter because of her specific situation. Although, kids
that are fascinated with history might like the reference to the migratory
process.
The book has colorful
illustrations that bring the scenery to life. You can find this book in English
and in Spanish.
