Literatura y Arte Hispano - Recomendaciones de Libros: Mi Papá Diego y Yo

A pesar de que nuestros hijos sepan leer, hay veces que es lindo que seamos nosotros los lectores de la historia y que ellos simplemente se dediquen a escucharnos y disfrutar. Sentarse junto a ellos con un libro en nuestras manos y generar un momento de aprendizaje e intercambio de opiniones. Si bién esto puede hacerse con cualquier libro, ¡que mejor que hacerlo con alguna biografía! Y mejor aún, si la biografía es de uno de los artistas hispanos mas reconocidos. Les propongo un libro para chicos sobre el trabajo de Diego Rivera. Para aquellos que tengan la suerte de estar en NY, el Museo de Arte Moderno (MOMA) presenta a partir del 13 de Noviembre del 2011 y hasta el 14 de Mayo del 2012, una exposición sobre los murales y los trabajos mas conocidos de Diego.

Para aquellos que estén interesados en que sus niños exploren el arte hispano, la hija del talentoso artista mexicano Diego Rivera publicó un libro en formato bilingüe sobre el trabajo de su padre. En él, no solo nos muestra sus murales y pinturas, sino que también cuenta un poco sobre la ideología de Diego y las enseñanzas que él le dejo: Si uno trabaja duro en lo que a uno le apasiona, es posible alcanzar nuestros  sueños mas deseados. Tiene fotos de las principales obras del artista y muchas pinturas que Diego hizo sobre niños, otra de sus pasiones.

Even though our children know how to read, sometimes it is nice for us to read to them, and let them just enjoy. Sitting near them with a book in our hands, generating a special moment to learn and exchange opinions. Though you can do this with any book, what's better than doing it with a biography? And even better, if that biography is about one of the most famous Hispanic artist. My suggestion is a children’s book about the work of Diego Rivera. And, for those of you who are lucky enough to be in NYC, the Museum of Modern Art (MOMA) is showing an exhibition about Diego’s paintings and murals. The exhibition runs from November 12^th 2011 through May 14^th 2012.

The book not only shows his most famous paintings and murals, but also tells us a little bit about Diego’s ideologies, and teachings that he passed on to his daughter: if you work hard in what you love, then you can achieve your most dearest dreams. The book has pictures of the artist most famous jobs, and also many paintings about children, another passion that Diego used to have.
